I am new to Medium but absolutely love reading from like minded people. I will keep this short and sweet. I do strongly feel that there is a collective move towards change, that many of us are working to a same goal to make the world a better place.
I personally feel that my generation (Gen X) has a lot to answer for: we created this everything is possible mindset – which is a positive. But also I personally feel that we distorted this message to Nothing is impossible at any Cost. We allowed ourselves to live beyond our means and we became greedy. Our parents, the baby boomers worked & saved hard to give us a better chance in life and to provide us with with much better opportunities than they had. But also they lived a simpler life and focused on quality rather than quantity.
Now that I have children of my own, I wonder if I can pass the same legacy to them. I profoundly believe that they will teach us all and lead us into this new world. It took the world to be in lock down for us to dig deep in ourselves, to question ourselves and to level up into a new collective thinking. I feel hopeful that there will be positives after the chaos that this pandemic has brought. Perhaps, never in our lifetimes did we think we would be at war with our old selves.
